My Ethan started first grade today. How is that possible?! I remember being in first grade! Wasn’t he just in preschool? Where did kindergarten even go?!
He was so excited to start 1st grade with his best friend, Jake. They have the same teacher, and he wasn’t even nervous or scared to start his day. He is becoming such a big boy, and I can’t wait for him to learn to read and write on his own this year.
I can’t believe he will now start going to school for a full day, every day. The girls start preschool next week and will be going for 3 mornings a week. I’ll have some time to myself a few times a week!
This whole the-kids-growing-up thing is so bittersweet. Some days, I can’t wait for them to grow up and move out. But most days, I want to shrink them back down to babies and just do these first few years all over again. They really did go by way too fast.
